Mild Steel Bars and Rods Export from India

Mild steel bars are among the most fundamental metal products in engineering and construction. India's integrated steel mills and downstream bar and rod mills produce a comprehensive range of hot-rolled and cold-drawn bar products for domestic use and export:

Hot-Rolled Round Bars — From 10mm to 150mm diameter for general engineering, machining (shafts, pins, fasteners) and reinforcement. IS 2062 E250 grade for structural applications, free-cutting steel grades (EN1A, EN8) for machining.

India is the world's largest producer of TMT (Thermomechanical Treated) rebars used in reinforced concrete construction. Fe500 and Fe550 grade TMT rebars from 8mm to 40mm diameter are exported to construction projects across Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

TMT manufacturing involves hot rolling followed by rapid quenching that produces a hardened martensitic surface layer over a softer ferrite-pearlite core. This combination gives TMT rebars significantly higher yield strength (500-550 MPa) than conventional rolled mild steel bars (250 MPa) while maintaining excellent ductility and seismic performance.

Cold-drawn bright steel bars (BS 970 / EN series grades) are available from Indian bright bar producers in Ludhiana, Faridabad and Pune — precision drawn to h9 or h11 tolerance, straightened and cut to length. Used as machining feedstock for precision-turned components in automotive, pneumatic and hydraulic applications.
